Give up Apathy

We all need to become 'active' citizens instead of paper members.Everyone can play a part to help make this Island a better place to live in. You really can make a difference.

First identify the problems which you believe are really important. What do you want changed?
Share your ideas and possible solutions and together we can make it happen.

Decide to give up apathy, become active.
Change can come if enough people demand it.

  1. I'm not sure if Apathy is the correct terminology, perhaps DEMORALIZED might be a better way of putting it.

I agree, people must start getting active but as we know Jersey is run by FEAR. People are scared to stick their head above the water.

  2. How long does it take to have a comment published on here?

  3. Less than a week at the most, and often within hours. I check for comments a couple of times on the day after a post, daily for two or three days after, and then a couple of times a week. If, in due course, we start achieving Stuart Syvret's level of feedback, I shall start checking three times a day, but at the moment logging in is a wasted minute most times.
I don't know whether Pandora checks regularly, too. All the rest leave it up to me, whether you call that apathy or delegation.

  4. 4 year terms for Senators and a publically elected Chief Minister.

Get rid of the "elected dictatorship" and the people will re-engage politically (which of course is exactly why the elected dictatorship show very little interest in getting the people to re-engage politically!).
